Marriott International Signs Seven Hotel Projects in Thailand

Marriott International announced an agreement with FICO Corporation on 7 October 2026 to develop seven hotels in Thailand. The projects are expected to add 1,262 rooms across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, expanding the group's presence in one of Southeast Asia's major tourism markets.

Bangkok at the centre of the expansion

Five of the planned properties are located in Bangkok. They include JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn, with 288 rooms, citizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11, with 147 rooms, and three Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties.

The projects will extend Marriott's offering across different market segments, from upscale hospitality to more streamlined accommodation aimed at travellers seeking a practical, design-led stay.

Expanding into resort destinations

The agreement also includes two properties under Series by Marriott: Easy Planet North Pattaya, with 192 rooms, and Easy Planet Phuket Patong, with 142 rooms.

These projects will broaden the group's presence in two established leisure destinations, where demand comes from both international visitors and domestic travellers.

A wider partnership

The new agreement builds on an existing relationship between Marriott International and FICO Corporation involving four hotels in Bangkok. Once the additional projects are included, their combined portfolio is expected to reach 11 hotels operating under eight Marriott brands.

The agreement reflects a strategy of expanding through several brands rather than relying on a single hospitality concept. This allows the group to address different traveller expectations while strengthening its presence in key urban and resort locations.

As Thailand continues to attract international tourism and investment, the projects underline the importance of partnerships between global hotel operators and local development groups in shaping the country's future hospitality offering.
