Seiko Presage Unveils a New Classic Watch with a Sustainable Twist

In a tribute to craftsmanship and a commitment to sustainability, Seiko Presage introduces a new classic wristwatch. This timepiece is a result of a unique upcycling initiative, transforming high-quality leather offcuts from the shoemaking process into elegant watch straps. The leather is sourced from REGAL, a long-established Japanese shoemaker, giving new value to surplus materials and blending tradition with innovation.

The Art of Japanese Aesthetics

The watch features a beautiful gradient dial inspired by “Shiracha,” a refined brown color cherished during the Edo period by tea masters and traditional artists. The subtle, sophisticated hue is paired with elegant gold-tone indexes and hands, ensuring legibility while enhancing the watch's classic, warm aesthetic. The case, with its flowing curves and refined silhouette, offers an organic feel despite being crafted from metal. The bezel is finished in a rich brown with intricate, three-dimensional detailing, adding a subtle touch of decorative elegance.

A Strap Inspired by Loafers

The upcycled leather strap is crafted from carefully selected surplus materials from shoe production, embracing both sustainability and fine craftsmanship. Inspired by REGAL's signature loafers, the strap mirrors the refined, sculpted contours of premium leather shoes. Beige decorative stitching near the case adds a tasteful accent, reminiscent of traditional shoemaking details.
