SEASON 2025 - Starting now until November 2025 

For our two Michelin star Restaurant we are looking for a personable and knowledgeable Sommelier with the ability to create unforgettable experience for our guests. 
 
Are you passionate about the art of wine and food pairing? Do you possess a keen palate and an unwavering enthusiasm for the world of fine dining?  
 
With a commitment to excellence in every aspect of our service, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional cuisine complemented by an extensive selection of wines from around the globe. As a Sommelier at Vila Joya, you will be an integral part of our service team to curate memorable dining experiences for our guests. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Provide expert wine service and recommendations tailored to taste, guest preferences and dietary needs 
  • Ensure flawless wine service proper serving temperatures and glassware presentation 
  • Offer wine pairing suggestions to elevate the dining experience 
  • Engage with guests, sharing insights about wines and enhancing their overall experience 
  • Maintain proper records of wine sales 
  • Collaborate with and support the service & kitchen teams 

Profil recherché

Our ideal candidate must possess: 

Experience in a Michelin Star Restaurant 
Knowledge of wines, international and Portuguese wines 
Fluent in at least 2 out of 3 languages: Portuguese, German, and English (additional languages are a plus). 
Passion for wine and food pairing, with a desire to continuously expand your knowledge and expertise in the field. 
Completion of relevant education or certification programs, such as sommelier training or wine studies, preferred. 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and build rapport. 
Detail-oriented approach to wine service, with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences to every guest. 
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. 
Adaptable and capable of integrating into a diverse team.
