Once known as the Grand Hotel Astoria, this historic Belle Époque building has been fully reimagined, now offering 126 rooms and suites, alongside a luxurious underground spa. After an extensive revitalization, the hotel reaffirms its legacy as a key player in Belgian hospitality, collaborating with outstanding local talent to elevate its culinary and bar experiences. It promises to be a standout destination for both locals and global travelers alike.
Originally opened in 1910, the restoration of this iconic Brussels property has been re-envisioned by the Corinthia Group—owners, developers, and operators of luxury hotels worldwide. Corinthia Hotels now oversees the management of this cherished landmark in the heart of Europe’s capital.
Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels, commented, “The reopening of Corinthia Brussels represents an exciting new chapter for both our brand and the city. This project goes beyond just restoring a hotel—it’s about reshaping the essence of luxury hospitality. By partnering with some of Belgium’s most innovative artisans and culinary talents, we’re pushing boundaries to create something truly extraordinary. We look forward to welcoming guests to experience this new era where heritage and innovation converge.”
A Testament to Grandeur
Nestled in the Notre Dame aux Neiges district, Corinthia Brussels has long been synonymous with elegance and grandeur. Commissioned by royal decree and designed by Henri Van Dievoet, it was originally intended as a palace for hosting the King’s esteemed guests. With its defining architecture and lavish interiors, it became a symbol of sophistication, welcoming distinguished figures such as Winston Churchill and Andy Warhol. After four years of meticulous restoration, in collaboration with Urban Brussels, Patrimoine Brussels, and the Royal Commission, it emerges as a hub of fine dining, urban relaxation, and refined Belgian living.
At the core of the hotel lies the Palm Court, illuminated by a magnificent stained-glass skylight, which has been expertly restored under the guidance of Belgian architect Francis Metzger. Guests will pass through this stunning space before ascending the grand staircase to the hotel’s 90 rooms, 31 suites, and five signature suites. Designed by GA Design, the interiors exude regal luxury with hues of blue and rust gold, reflecting the building’s rich historical legacy.
A Culinary Haven
Just as Corinthia Brussels respects the art of architecture and design, it equally honors the craft of gastronomy. The hotel has partnered with two esteemed Michelin-starred Belgian chefs—David Martin and Christophe Hardiquest—who bring their unique dining concepts, Le Petit Bon Bon and Palais Royal, while renowned mixologist Hannah Van Ongevalle launches her first solo bar venture, Under The Stairs.
Though their concepts are distinct, chefs Martin and Hardiquest share a common ethos: fostering young talent within a collaborative, creative, and supportive kitchen environment, while honoring the culinary traditions of Belgium. Le Petit Bon Bon, a brasserie concept led by Hardiquest, serves Belgian classics with a contemporary twist, open for lunch and dinner from Thursday to Monday. Designed by local studio We Want More, the brasserie offers an exciting yet cozy atmosphere, where the team’s infectious energy and warm service are key highlights. Under Hardiquest’s direction, the kitchen is led by Venezuelan Andrea Mesa, adding a vibrant South American influence to the menu.
Palais Royal, the creation of David Martin, presents a French-inspired menu infused with Japanese flavors, offering a choice of seven, ten, or twelve courses in a degustation format. For those seeking a more casual option, dishes can also be ordered à la carte, reflecting Martin’s commitment to inclusivity and breaking down the formalities of fine dining. This refined restaurant serves lunch from Tuesday to Friday and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
The Palm Court, under its striking skylight, serves a variety of coffees, teas, light bites, and beverages throughout the day, leading to Salon Elisabeth, a space that serves breakfast and doubles as a flexible event venue, hosting intimate dinners, screenings, and press events.
Hannah Van Ongevalle introduces Under The Stairs, her first independent bar venture, offering an ever-evolving menu of cocktails and mocktails. Opening in February 2025, this bar will operate daily from noon to 1 a.m. Its inaugural menu, From Dust We Rise, reimagines classic cocktails inspired by iconic hotel bars around the world over the last century.
A Sanctuary of Wellness
Wellness at Corinthia Brussels redefines luxury with the introduction of a sophisticated underground spa, a first for the city. Spanning over 1200 square meters, the spa includes seven private treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, experience showers, a tea room, and a fitness center, offering personal training sessions by former British Army PT instructor Paul Tucker.
The hotel’s concept store, Coutume, celebrates Belgian craftsmanship, featuring a curated selection of luxury local brands. From fashion and fine jewelry to unique design pieces, the store showcases celebrated names like Maison La Collection and Daniel Ost, alongside up-and-coming designers.
Nestled in the heart of Europe, Brussels is a vibrant city blending rich cultural heritage with contemporary style. Known for its Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture, the city will mark the centenary of Art Deco in 2025. Guests at Corinthia Brussels are perfectly positioned to explore the city's museums, lively arts scene, and culinary treasures, all within close reach of Brussels' most coveted address.
