The hotel occupies a building constructed in the 1970s on the site of fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli's former private mansion, where she entertained Parisian high society.

This modern facade was designed by the renowned French architect Maurice Novarina, a recipient of the Grand Prix de Rome in architecture and a partner of Jean Prouvé.
