A New Beacon of Luxury
“With each new hotel, we aim to deliver unique experiences grounded in personalized service while embracing the essence of each destination,” says Rainer Stampfer, Four Seasons President, Global Operations, Hotels and Resorts. “As we expand in Japan’s top markets, this hotel uniquely features a contemporary ryokan, spectacular city views, and authentic Chinese cuisine in a chic setting.”
Situated in the One Dojima multi-use building, designed by architects NIKKEN SEKKEI LTD, the hotel’s interiors are crafted by Japanese design leaders CURIOSITY, SIMPLICITY, and DESIGN STUDIO SPIN. Every detail is meticulously planned to enhance the signature Four Seasons welcome. Located in the Dojima neighborhood, known for its cozy cafes, hidden bars, scenic waterways, and historic sites, guests can explore the city easily by foot, car, boat, or train. The concierge team is ready to tailor itineraries for all ages and interests.
“Osaka is becoming a new favorite among travelers, and our mission is to highlight the city’s treasures while offering the most relaxed and engaging luxury hospitality experience,” says General Manager Alastair McAlpine, a nearly three-decade veteran of Four Seasons who has returned to Japan to open the hotel.
Introducing Osaka’s First Luxury Ryokan Experience
The Four Seasons Hotel Osaka debuts GENSUI 玄水, a contemporary ryokan experience on the 28th floor. Guests are greeted with green tea, provided with slippers, and can enjoy rush-grass tatami mats as they move to their rooms. Designed by SIMPLICITY, each room features low-slung seating, sliding doors, and luxurious futon-style sleeping platforms. Amenities include yukatas, a curated mini-bar, and a bathing stool in the shower area. GENSUI guests also have exclusive access to SABO tea lounge, which offers bento-style breakfasts, tea rituals, and evening sake and wine.
The hotel offers an additional 130 guest rooms and 24 suites, all with elevated city views from the 29th to 35th floors. Interiors feature harmonious colors, natural wood and stone finishes, and thoughtful touches. The Presidential, Grand Osaka, and Dojima Suites represent the pinnacle of luxury, while rooms and suites at the building’s corners offer panoramic city views.
Destination Dining and Drinking at Four Seasons
In a city with 85 Michelin-starred restaurants, Four Seasons elevates the dining experience with unique concepts overseen by Director of Food and Beverage Sebastian Gassen and Executive Chef Paolo Pelosi. The signature restaurant, Jiang Nan Chun, serves authentic Cantonese cuisine in a striking setting, with barbecue specialties and a tableside roast duck carving. The 37th floor also features Bar Bota, a glamorous cocktail emporium with handcrafted libations by Head Bartender Andrei Marcu.
Jardin, led by Executive Sous Chef Hiroaki Nagaishi, offers an international semi-buffet breakfast, exquisite afternoon tea, and classic French dishes in the evening. Farine, an artisanal bakery, and CHA, a quiet oasis with Japanese teas, provide additional dining options.
Later this year, an 18-seat sushi restaurant will open on the 37th floor, adding to the culinary delights.
Spa and Wellness at Four Seasons
The entire 36th floor is dedicated to The Spa at Four Seasons, a relaxation oasis with five treatment rooms, including a couple’s room with a private bath. The spa features a 100-minute high-performance facial inspired by Empress Kōmyō, bath experiences with seasonal herbs, and a range of massages, facials, and body treatments. Wellness facilities include ofuro, a 16-meter indoor pool, and a 24/7 fitness center.
Meetings and Special Events
The hotel’s second-floor event spaces include a 220 square meter Grand Ballroom, a Garden Terrace, and a Sky Salon on the 37th floor with its own kitchen and bar. These versatile spaces are ideal for both business meetings and social events.
