Six Senses Introduces Two New Properties in Italy: Six Senses Lake Como and Six Senses Milan

Six Senses has announced hotel management agreements with Gruppo Statuto, marking an exciting new chapter in its Italian expansion. The upcoming openings of Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como will follow the successful launch of Six Senses Rome in 2023, situated in the beautifully restored Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, and the anticipated Six Senses Antognolla in Umbria.

As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' expanding Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, Six Senses now boasts nearly 100 open hotels across Europe, including eight properties in Italy, Switzerland, France, Israel, Portugal, Spain, and Türkiye.
Six Senses Milan will be located at Via Brera 19, in the artistic heart of Milan, reflecting the city's authentic heritage and culture. Six Senses Lake Como will honor the historical significance of the region, where hospitality first emerged on the shores of Lake Como in 1820 in Cadenabbia di Griante, a locale that has attracted emperors, monarchs, writers, and celebrities.

Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, expressed, “Italy moves you like nowhere else. In few places do art, architecture, gastronomy, and the joy of living intertwine so effortlessly. Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como both speak to a purpose. The first is intentionally sized and designed for attentive hospitality and holistic wellness within one of Europe’s most dynamic fashion capitals. The second is a serene escape within the most beautiful lakeside gardens just 90 minutes away.”

The addition of these two properties also positions Gruppo Statuto as a leading Italian real estate group with an international hotel portfolio, which includes Six Senses London and Six Senses Ibiza alongside Six Senses Rome.
Giuseppe Statuto, Owner of Gruppo Statuto, remarked, “Gruppo Statuto has further strengthened its collaboration with Six Senses to bring the brand to renowned destinations. Following its success in Ibiza and Rome and its upcoming opening in London, Gruppo Statuto is delighted to announce two further historical buildings in iconic international addresses. The Gruppo Statuto Luxury Hotels portfolio is now a benchmark within the high-end hospitality segment, where Italy leads interests and investments, due to its history, culture, and lifestyle.”

Six Senses Milan

Nestled amidst the galleries of Via Brera and the masterpieces within the Pinacoteca Museum, Six Senses Milan offers a tranquil retreat from the city's vibrant energy. This hotel is designed to immerse guests in craftsmanship and timeless elegance, featuring arabescato marble, antique brass detailing, handmade smoked glass, textured ceilings, and mosaic borders.
The property emphasizes sustainability, with eco-friendly materials and furnishings, an Earth Lab, a serene internal courtyard, and a specialty restaurant and deli showcasing seasonal cuisine.
Comprising 68 guest rooms, including 15 suites—two with plunge pools—the hotel also features a state-of-the-art spa offering a variety of high-tech, high-touch treatments, along with a rooftop bar and sky pool.

Six Senses Lake Como

Six Senses Lake Como will be a luxurious haven for city dwellers and a source of inspiration for romantics like Wordsworth, Shelley, and Byron. Following a complete restoration of the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia on the western shores of Lake Como, the property will seamlessly blend resort living with the area’s rich heritage amidst picturesque gardens.
The number of guest rooms will be thoughtfully reduced to 102, allowing for larger accommodations and expanded spa and wellness facilities. Amenities will include an outdoor pool, sun deck, and a floating pool on the lake. A specialty restaurant, as well as a terrace bar and restaurant with stunning lake views on the fourth floor, will provide the perfect backdrop for romance and reflection.
In 2023, IHG doubled its Luxury & Lifestyle offerings in Italy, including the return of the InterContinental brand with the opening of InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace. Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como will join the 30 open hotels in the country, with eight more in development, including new brands like Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and the Vignette Collection.

Six Senses Milan is set to open in 2025, while Six Senses Lake Como will follow in 2028.
