About the company

The establishment La Mère Brazier was founded in 1921 in Lyon by Eugénie Brazier, who was 26 years old at the time.

Taking over this small tavern for a handful of francs, the young farmer conquered the palates of the most discerning gourmets of the era.

It was in 2009, 85 years later, under the leadership of chef Mathieu Viannay, that the restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars. This was a significant achievement for Viannay, who was named Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2004 and acquired this legendary establishment in 2008.

Politicians and personalities from diverse backgrounds have been dining at the tables of this restaurant-turned-institution for nearly a century.
