A private island in the Raa Atoll
Dubbed Bulgari Resort Ranfushi - meaning "little gold island" in Dhivehi - the resort will sit on an island in the Raa Atoll, just 45 minutes from Malé airport by seaplane. Spanning 20 hectares, the property will house 54 rooms including a private Bulgari Villa on a separate exclusive island, 33 beach villas each with its own pool, and 20 overwater villas, alongside a fitness centre, yoga pavilion, private library, Bulgari Bar and Bulgari Spa.
The brand's 13th hotel, designed with longtime partners
Ranfushi will mark Bulgari's 13th hotel since its first property opened in Milan in 2004, following expansions to Dubai and Paris among others. As with its other properties, the group will continue working with architecture firm ACPV Architects, founded by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, who have designed every Bulgari hotel to date.
Four distinct dining concepts
The resort will offer four restaurants: Italian cuisine at Il Ristorante, curated by three-Michelin-star chef Niko Romito; Chinese fine dining at Bao Li Xuan, a sister restaurant to the Michelin two-star address at Bulgari Hotel Shanghai; Japanese concept Hōseki, previously introduced at Bulgari Resort Dubai; and beachside Italian fare at La Spiaggia.
