"Every Capella hotel is inspired by the essence of its location," says Cristiano Rinaldi, President of Capella Hotel Group. "Our growth strategy revolves around three key pillars: choosing locations rich in cultural significance, partnering with architects who align with our vision of authenticity, and preserving a boutique scale across most properties to ensure highly personalized service."
Through its commitment to refined hospitality, Capella has earned widespread acclaim, with Capella Hotels and Resorts being named the World's Best Brand by
Travel + Leisure for the second consecutive year, and Capella Bangkok recognized as the World's Best Hotel by World's 50 Best Hotels. The upcoming 2025 openings will highlight unique architectural collaborations within the group's luxury brands, Capella Hotels and Resorts, and the transformative Patina Hotels & Resorts.
Capella Taipei - Opening in early 2025, Capella Taipei, designed by Andre Fu Studio, offers a modern mansion experience along the prestigious Dunhua North Road. This 86-room property embodies Fu's vision of a sophisticated urban retreat within the vibrant Songshan district, reflecting Taipei's spirit through its tree-lined avenues. Guests will experience panoramic views of Taipei 101 and the mountains, with a series of dining venues, including a three-level bar, enhancing the property's architectural and culinary appeal.
Capella at Galaxy Macau - In Q2 2025, Capella at Galaxy Macau, designed by Moinard Bétaille, will open its doors as a refined sanctuary that marries modern elegance with a tropical aesthetic. The 93-key property embraces Macau’s rich heritage, featuring light-filled Sky Villas and suites, blending elements of Portuguese-Chinese architecture. The design integrates Capella’s signature cultural programs within the broader context of this luxurious development.
Patina Osaka - Opening in Q2 2025, Patina Osaka brings a bold design vision to life, conceived by Jun Mitsui & Associates and Strickland. The 221-room hotel celebrates the water-inspired spirit of Osaka, embodying Japan’s "City of Water" through contemporary interpretations of traditional design elements. With panoramic views of Osaka Castle and Naniwanomiya-ato Park, Patina Osaka will feature distinctive design elements like the P72 restaurant, which celebrates Japan's 72 micro-seasons, and The Listening Room by OJAS, enhancing the luxury experience.
Capella Kyoto - Set to open in late 2025, Capella Kyoto, designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates and Brewin Design Office, will blend cultural heritage with modern luxury. Located in the historic Miyagawa-chō district, this 89-key property preserves the essence of Zen Buddhism and wabi-sabi aesthetics. The design draws inspiration from the nearby Kenninji Temple, incorporating traditional Japanese elements such as tatami and Zen gardens. A central courtyard will serve as the heart of the property, connecting public and private spaces organically.
"Design is not just a visual experience; it’s an emotional journey," notes Cristiano Rinaldi. "With these new openings, we will expand from eight to twelve properties by the end of 2025, with plans to double our portfolio by 2030. Future projects include a branded residential development in Seoul, as well as hotels in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Tianjin, China."
Capella Hotel Group remains focused on innovation beyond design, incorporating digital payment solutions and cryptocurrency acceptance at flagship locations like Capella Singapore and Patina Maldives, Fari Islands.
