Corinthia’s second prestigious address in Italy
The Corinthia Lake Como will be the brand’s second Italian property, combining restored heritage architecture with expansive outdoor living. The resort will offer a world-class spa and wellness center, exceptional dining experiences, and a lakefront club providing direct access to the water at the widest part of the lake.
Three branded residences will be part of the property, while public spaces will be curated across three villas housing the lobby, lounge, and golf club, all framed to face the mountains and lake. Guestrooms and suites will be discreetly integrated into the natural contours of the land, reflecting the understated charm of Como’s villages and the refined elegance of Menaggio.
A shared commitment to excellence and authenticity
“We are honoured to expand our portfolio in Italy and to partner with RoundShield and Kervis on this landmark project,” said Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels. “Lake Como is one of the world’s most admired destinations, and this development reflects our shared commitment to excellence and authenticity. Together, we will deliver a hotel that celebrates the region's splendour and heritage while exemplifying Corinthia’s standards of timeless, thoughtful luxury.”
Construction timeline and ownership details
Construction is expected to begin following final planning approvals, with operations targeted for late 2028. The property is owned by the Putter Fund and developed by Kervis SGR S.p.A, an Italian real estate and special situations investment manager with over €1.5 billion in assets under management. Kervis serves as the asset manager of the Putter Fund, fully invested by a RoundShield entity.
RoundShield and Kervis on the project
“We are proud to bring this extraordinary site to life with Corinthia and Kervis, blending Lake Como’s heritage with an elevated luxury offering,” said Philipp Henle, Managing Director at RoundShield. “This project reflects RoundShield’s growing focus on luxury hospitality-led real estate in prime European destinations.”
Federico Romito, Partner and Head of Acquisitions at Kervis SGR, added: “This project perfectly embodies Kervis’ vision of combining heritage, sustainability, and excellence in hospitality to create long-term value for investors and the local community. It also aligns with our broader strategy of partnering with leading global operators and institutional capital to reposition landmark Italian destinations.”
Corinthia’s Philosophy: Timeless luxury and human-centered approach
As a family-founded and independently operated company, Corinthia makes decisions guided by a long-term vision rather than short-term trends. The brand’s philosophy emphasizes uplifting the lives of staff, partners, and guests, underpinned by a personal sense of guardianship.
The romance of the new Lake Como resort echoes the Maltese villa where Corinthia’s story began, reflecting the brand’s enduring pursuit of creating places that move the spirit and stand the test of time.
