Marriott International named Stijn Oyen as Complex General Manager Mallorca and General Manager of The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort, effective September 01st 2021.
Stijn started his hospitality career as a Junior Supervisor in banqueting at The Park Lane Hotel, London in 2001 and moved up over the years to Food & Beverage Manager of the property. He continued his career as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food & Beverage at the Sheraton La Caletta Resort & Spa, Costa Adeje, Tenerife followed by Executive Assistant Manager at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel.
In 2011 Stijn took on his first General Manager role at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Krakow. He was awarded as best Sheraton Hotel in Europe for the highest guest satisfaction. Only two years later Stijn accepted the General Manager position at Hotel Maria Cristina, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Sebastian. During his four years tenure he very successfully repositioned the property after a multi million Euro renovation.
Stijn currently serves as General Manager of one of the most iconic W hotels, W Barcelona, where he has led the team since 2017. Stijn railed and sailed the hotel in a highly competitive market beating the comp set on RevPar.
Stijn is a passionate hotelier with roots in the kitchen as a Chef and over 20 years of experience in luxury hotel business across several regions and different types like city hotels and resorts. Stijn is an outgoing team leader with a focus on the well-being of his people, always looking for new and creative ways to improve the guest experience and business results. He received several awards based on outstanding achievements and surpassing KPI’s, protecting quality and owners returns.
