Niyama offers the ultimate luxury surfing destination in the Maldives, with waves breaking right at the shore. Each peak season, the resort attracts surf enthusiasts from all over the globe, who arrive with their boards or gear up at the Rip Curl boutique. Guests can settle into the specially designed surf villas, then catch the waves before unwinding at the Surf Shack with refreshing drinks and lively tunes, or heading to Drift Spa for a rejuvenating massage and soothing aloe vera treatment for sun-drenched skin.
Brad Gerlach, who will be at Niyama from April 10-30, 2025, will bring his groundbreaking coaching techniques, which are built around Wave-Ki—a method that focuses on slow, intentional movements designed to enhance muscle memory and improve surfing skills. Used by pro surfers like Parker Coffin, this land-based technique helps build precision and muscle memory for better performance on the water.
Joining him to capture the essence of the surf experience will be Rafael Fragoso de Sequeira, a Brazilian surf photographer with a passion for action-packed moments. Rafael has spent years traveling to the most renowned surf locations around the world, chasing the perfect wave and the perfect shot.
“The return of the surf season, along with the expertise of Brad and Rafael, is always something special,” says Nathan Kemp, Surf Development Director at Niyama. “Our surf scene is unique—beautiful surroundings, perfect waves, and all the luxury and comfort our guests expect. With Brad and Rafael on hand, we are offering the ultimate surfing experience.”
