The hotel introduces Casa Tua’s first New York location, along with a dedicated Surrey Spa featuring Sisley Paris, all within a sophisticated, lifestyle-driven atmosphere.
The Surrey is positioned to become an integral part of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, blending luxury with creativity. As Pradeep Raman, Managing Director of The Surrey, describes it, the hotel aims to be “a cultural mainstay” and a vibrant hub that contributes to the neighborhood's dynamic blend of fashion, art, and creativity. Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels, echoed this sentiment, calling the opening a “love letter to New York,” symbolizing the city’s creative spirit.
The hotel’s design blends historical references with contemporary touches, creating a residential-like atmosphere that feels uniquely New York. Public spaces and guest rooms were designed by the MBDS team to incorporate luxurious, sensory-rich elements, including Murano chandeliers and bespoke furniture. The spacious suites are named after the iconic bridges of Central Park, with design details that mirror the architectural characteristics of each bridge.
A central feature of The Surrey is its partnership with Casa Tua, the renowned Italian restaurant group. The first New York location of Casa Tua offers a refined dining experience that highlights Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant design, by Michele Bonan, blends modern elegance with Florentine influences, and includes a private members’ club for an exclusive experience.
For wellness enthusiasts, The Surrey Spa featuring Sisley Paris is a new oasis on the Upper East Side. The luxury French brand’s expertise in Phyto-cosmetology is reflected in the spa’s rejuvenating and anti-aging treatments. The spa includes two treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, and a unique outdoor terrace, ensuring a holistic wellness experience.
The hotel’s art collection also plays a central role in its identity. Curated in collaboration with Paris-based VISTO Gallery, the collection celebrates New York's vibrant artistic legacy. It showcases works by both established and emerging artists inspired by the city’s energy and culture, enhancing the hotel’s guest experience with a visual journey through the city's creative spirit.
