Gucci is set to open its latest Osteria da Massimo Bottura location, opening its doors in South Korea, at the end of March.

Located in the capital, Seoul, in the district of Itaewon, the new Gucci Osteria is situated on the top floor of the Gucci Gaok flagship. It marks the luxury Italian restaurant’s third global location outside of Italy, after Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, U.S., and Gucci Namiki in Ginza, Tokyo.

Inside, the main dining area of the Seoul restaurant can seat up to 28 guests, in addition to a private room – The Room of Mirrors — for special events. Taking cues from its Florence location, the Seoul restaurant riffs on Italian Renaissance and Gucci’s eclectic aesthetic mix: the Florentine brand’s notable green is washed throughout, alongside woodwork panelling and large mirrors that give a sense of more space; a notion also achieved with the extra terrace, which can seat another 34 patrons. Like Gucci Osteria Tokyo, the Seoul location has been imbued with a star symbol in the ceiling lights of the hall and the parquet flooring, as well as the terrace’s marble mosaic.

As for the food, the restaurant’s menus have been developed by Chef Massimo Bottura, and Karime Lopez, executive chef at Gucci Osteria Florence, in partnership with Seoul executive chef Hyungkyu Jun and head chef, Davide Cardellini.

The à la carte menu will include Gucci Osteria signature dishes such as the ‘Emilia Burger’ and tortellini with parmigiano reggiano cream. There will also be Gucci-takes on Italian-centred dishes and new seasonal Korean-inspired creations, including ‘Seoul Garden’ and ‘Summer in Adriatic’.

“There is an invisible thread that runs through each of the Gucci Osteria globally: one that entwines Italian food with the food and produce of other great global cuisines,” said Gucci Osteria chef Massimo Bottura.

“Korea – like Italy – embraces its food as part of its culture, and I’m so excited to welcome everyone to our Seoul outpost.”

The Gucci Osteria Seoul location opened on March 28. Online reservations are open now.
