A New Space Focused on the Client Experience
Prada already operated separate men’s and women’s boutiques in the iconic 19th-century shopping arcade. The two spaces are now connected by an underground tunnel, creating an eight-level complex that is also linked to Marchesi, the pastry shop owned by the group.
The new space includes a permanent exhibition floor, a private shopping area for highly personalised appointments and an apartment designed to host private dinners. Among the pieces on display are Prada bags reinterpreted by British artist Damien Hirst and the “Chandelier” dress worn by Carey Mulligan in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
Prada Targets High-End Clients
The group expects the new complex to generate up to €100 million in annual revenue. Prada, which recorded €5.7 billion in revenue last year, has not disclosed the amount invested in the renovation.
The project reflects a broader trend in luxury: creating increasingly personalised experiences for high-spending clients. Prada plans to develop similar “apartments” in the world’s 25 largest capitals, while keeping entry-level prices relatively stable to continue appealing to aspirational customers.
