As the Chef Partner, Michael Anthony will spearhead the culinary offerings at Waldorf Astoria’s flagship property, poised to reopen later this year. This partnership heralds a new era of culinary excellence at one of Manhattan's most iconic hotels.

Situated at the corner of Lexington Avenue and 50th Street, the Waldorf Astoria New York’s new two-story American Brasserie-style restaurant is set to become a culinary landmark. The restaurant, designed to appeal to the local community, global guests, and residents of the Waldorf Astoria Residences, will feature a bar on the first floor, with dining and private dining spaces spread across both floors.

Guests can look forward to exquisite farm-to-table dining experiences and elevated seasonal menus under Chef Michael Anthony’s warm hospitality. The menu will celebrate American culinary traditions while emphasizing local and regional purveyors, reinterpreting American classics with a focus on luxury dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additionally, the renowned Peacock Alley will make a return, featuring signature dishes crafted by Chef Michael Anthony.

Chef Michael Anthony is known for his tenure at the internationally acclaimed, one Michelin-starred Gramercy Tavern in New York City, where his innovative approach to seasonal American cuisine has garnered both local and global recognition. With over three decades of experience, Chef Anthony has received numerous prestigious awards, including the James Beard Awards for Outstanding Chef (2015) and Best Chef: New York City (2012). He is also the author of several cookbooks, such as *V is for Vegetables*, awarded Best Vegetable-Focused Cookbook by the James Beard Foundation. Beyond his culinary accomplishments, Chef Anthony is actively involved in the community, notably with God’s Love We Deliver, which provides home-delivered, nutritious meals to diverse populations in New York City.

Chef Michael Anthony began his culinary journey under the tutelage of Shizuyo Shima in Tokyo, Japan, later training at L’Ecole Ferrandi in Paris. He has worked in several esteemed kitchens, including Restaurant Daniel in New York, before joining Gramercy Tavern in 2006, where he became Chef Partner in 2011.
