Sales & Events Agent (Maternity Cover) - 5* Luxury Hotel
We are currently recruiting for a Sales & Events Agent (Maternity Cover) to join our team at Ashford Castle.
Location: Cong, County Mayo, Ireland.
Working pattern: 5 days over 7 days (including some weekends and Bank Holidays).

Key Responsibilities as a Sales and Events Agent:
- Maintain and update travel advisor and agency records, supporting sales activity and post-trip follow-up.
- Prepare customised sales and group proposals based on client requirements.
- Coordinate guest, VIP, media and influencer itineraries prior to arrival.
- Manage correspondence with travel advisors, partners and guests via email and phone.
- Support VIP requests in the absence of senior leadership.
- Assist with individual and group reservations, including rooming lists, dining, activities and special experiences.
- Prepare and update event and function documentation to ensure seamless delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Front Office, F&B, Operations) for smooth execution of stays and events.
- Compile monthly sales and production reports to track partner and event performance.
- Support marketing initiatives including advert briefs (print and radio).
- Take ownership of enquiries from initial contact through to completion, ensuring exceptional service throughout.
- Previous experience in sales, event coordination, or a similar role in the hospitality or events industry.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication skills, with a focus on customer service and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards of service.
- A proactive, self-motivated individual who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with an understanding of budget management and profitability.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and build relationships with clients and suppliers.
