The new Zeelander 5 is not just all appearance and no substance, though; this spellbinding yacht also delivers improved functionality. Its side-boarding doors and passarelle allow easy entry, while the full walk-around cockpit gives access to the iconic Zeelander swim platform. And most importantly, the Zeelander 5 can be opened up for the summer months with an electronically operated sunroof and retractable sliding window aft, or sealed off for cool winter cruises.
The new boat is broader in the beam, which offers many benefits. There is greater volume below, naturally, but also better hydrodynamics and cruising characteristics. With the Zeelander 5, you’ll never be short of power. Simply flip over the backrests the create dual pilot seats for effortless control of the yacht’s systems, with options including twin or triple Volvo Penta IPS 500 or 650 pods, for a maximum of 1,440hp. This makes for a blistering ride indeed, but Volvo’s Assisted Docking technology also makes light of close-quarters manoeuvring, giving the best of both worlds. The boat’s maximum speed is 45 knots, but it can also travel long distances on one tank, with a maximum range of 1,333 nautical miles at 6 knots.
The cockpit space also benefits from a space-optimised design with various options on offer. Choose from a curved sofa bank or a convertible sunbed aft with more sofas, or even a sleek bar area against the bulkhead. A further sunpad graces the coachroof forward, both with the option of shade from an innovative tensile awning that stows in the front and back of the coachroof.
