Kempinski Hotels appoints Alan Chin as Managing Director for greater China and Mongolia to drive strategic expansion

Kempinski Hotels announced the appointment of seasoned hospitality executive Alan Chin as Managing Director for Greater China and Mongolia, and General Manager of KEY International Hotels Management Co. Ltd.. This pivotal move is set to strengthen the Group's presence and accelerate strategic growth in one of its most dynamic and crucial global markets.

In this key leadership position, Alan Chin will join Kempinski’s Group Executive Committee, overseeing the brand’s entire operations and development across the region. His mandate is to drive significant expansion, forge key partnerships, and support the company’s ongoing business transformation. 

A new phase of growth and portfolio diversification 

Mr. Chin's appointment aligns with Kempinski Hotels' long-term strategy to enter a new phase of growth in China, focusing on portfolio diversification and market presence enhancement. The company has outlined ambitious plans to expand its Chinese heritage luxury offerings and introduce a new lifestyle hospitality brand, reflecting its commitment to blending timeless European luxury with modern innovation to meet the rising demand from Chinese travellers.

Alan Chin: decades of strategic expertise in Greater China 

Alan Chin brings more than two decades of extensive hospitality and real estate experience in Greater China, boasting a strong record in business development and strategic leadership. 
Prior to joining Kempinski, he held several senior roles, including an impressive 15-year tenure at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director of Banyan Tree China and Senior Vice President of Banyan Tree Holdings. In these capacities, he successfully oversaw business operations, portfolio expansion, and brand positioning across China’s luxury hospitality sector.

In his new role, Chin will focus on strengthening Kempinski’s luxury portfolio while spearheading new business initiatives tailored to the evolving market.
