Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok Celebrates a Triple Win with Prestigious Global Awards

On September 27, 2024, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok proudly celebrated its remarkable achievements with three prestigious global awards, reflecting its commitment to outstanding service and luxury. Nestled along the banks of the Chao Phraya River, this iconic hotel, often referred to as Bangkok's 'La Grande Dame', was honored as the World’s Best Hotel by The Daily Telegraph, received three keys from the Michelin Guide, and secured a spot on the World’s 50 Best Hotels list.

General Manager Anthony Tyler expressed, “To win one of these prestigious global awards is a true honour, but three represents an unprecedented endorsement of our historic hotel. In 148 years since The Oriental opened, the focus has 2 remained the same, namely to offer our guests the most exceptional experiences supported by legendary hospitality and a tradition of unrivalled service.” 
The Daily Telegraph, a long-established British newspaper, draws from thousands of hotel reviews written by travel experts to assess and rank hotels. This year, for the first time, it recognized Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok as the World’s Best Hotel. The lead judge praised the hotel for its grandeur and exceptional service, noting, “This hotel has welcomed royalty, literary icons, and Hollywood stars for nearly 150 years, ensuring everyone receives star treatment.” 


The Michelin Guide has recently introduced its keys, a new benchmark for hotels offering extraordinary stays. The award of three keys to Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok signifies excellence in various categories, including design, service quality, and guest experience. The Michelin inspectors remarked, “Often regarded as Thailand's first five-star hotel, it remains a benchmark of Thai hospitality.” 
Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok also claimed the 12th spot in the World’s 50 Best Hotels awards, which are determined by a panel of 580 global industry experts.
